OET score requirements: Grade B, C+ and what each regulator asks for
OET has no overall score: each sub-test gets a score from 0–500 and a letter grade. Most nurse regulators below ask for B (350) in Listening, Reading and Speaking, and C+ (300) in Writing. The GMC asks for B in all four.

FAQ
Questions
What does OET Grade B mean?
Grade B means a score of 350 or above in a sub-test. OET reports each sub-test separately; there is no overall score.
Is C+ enough for the NMC?
Yes, for Writing only. The NMC requires C+ (300 or above) in Writing and B (350 or above) in Listening, Reading and Speaking.
Can I combine OET results from two tests?
The NMC allows two sittings within 12 months of each other, with all four sub-tests taken each time and OET results only. NMBI does not accept combined results. Confirm the conditions with your regulator.
What score does ECFMG need?
For the 2027 Pathways, ECFMG requires OET Medicine scores of 350 in Listening, 350 in Reading, 350 in Speaking and 300 in Writing, all in one test administration.
